Presenting ... "Corrugate (waag_rel057)" by Red Pools

"Corrugate (waag_rel056)" is two tracks of roughly the same ilk that I produced in the first half of 2014.

Thanks to Thomas Mathie, Wolfgang Merx, Dario Lozano-Thornton, Phil Begg, Grace Smith, Nichola Stafford, Michael Bridgewater, Adam Denton, Mark Hadman, Crow Versus Crow, Stephen Ferrell, Roo Carpenter, Michael Hann, the twitter community, weareallghosts and others for all sorts of reasons.

Special thanks to Thomas for agreeing to float this boat, and for, as always, making this thing possible.

This will probably the last substantial volume of material from me for a while to take some time away from releasing.

- Sean

I found Corrugate to be a wonderfully engaging electroacoustic journey, one that twists and turns in the most delightfully hypnotic manner.

Both Radium and Erosion (tracks or “sides” 1 and 2 of this release) are a pure, unadulterated celebration of invention and the creative spirit … and come highly commended.

I really do hope you enjoy these pieces from Sean and, while I am a wee bit disappointed at his current hiatus, I am glad I have this release as well as his previous two releases on waag - “Erasal (waag_rel046)” and “Knurled Fog | Agerich (waag_sng005)” - to tide me over.

An MP3 version of this album is available for free on Archive or a lossless version available here for 'pay what you want' which does include £0.

If you do decide to download this album for free then all we ask in return is that you tell your friends, tweet a link or post it on Facebook, write a review and spread the word.

Presenting ... "Erasal (waag_rel046)" by Red Pools

----------

Three tracks of caustic city-driven technoustica, built from the minutia of old session recordings, hauntological cassette tapes of unknown origin, recombinant soundscapes, extracted percussion, and the processed ghosts of sound objects inhabiting the spaces I come into contact with.

Source material recorded, tracks composed and performed to create this record July 2013-Feb 2014.

My sincere thanks to:
Impossibility Knox (Gwilly Edmondez, Dario Lozano-Thornton, Elaine Cheng, Esme Baker, Meena Daneshyar, Greta Buitkute) - used in Graulhet.
Anonymous eBay seller who sent me a Microcassette of gorgeous classical music I don't know with his old player - used in Senseless Part 1.
The band I don't know that accidentally made the ceiling of a warehouse shake in time to a song I was writing while I was in sheffield – used in Senseless Part 2.
Unknown singers, songwriters whose vinyl records were smashed and recombined – used in Cyclomatic.
Incidental performers in any samples i've recorded in public places.
Thomas Mathie, Wolfgang Merx and Basdriver for being on the ball and releasing this despite adversity.
The WAAG community for listening and downloading.
- Sean

----------

I found this three track EP from Red Pools to be utterly fascinating and just had to have it on weareallghosts.

My thanks to Sean, Wolfgang & Basdriver for making this happen!

I hope you enjoy "Erasal (waag_rel046)" as much as I have.

An MP3 version of this EP is available for free on Archive or a lossless version available here for 'pay what you want' which does include £0.

If you do decide to download this EP for free then all we ask in return is that you tell your friends, tweet a link or post it on Facebook, write a review and spread the word.

Presenting... "Knurled Fog | Agerich (waag_sng005)" by Red Pools

Since 2008 I have been producing and releasing music under various names, most notably electronic music under the name Artificial Sun Project. In 2013 I ended this project, and out of it's ashes came Red Pools.

This is my first double single of my new material, reflective of a new style of music, and a new direction.

Two sides of mournful techno ... with swaying, claustrophobic atmospheres that gurgle and crackle in a rather delightful manner with murky thumping, quasi-wurlizer, piano recomposition and intercepted transmissions.

Many thanks to Martha Agerich, Wolfgang Merx and Thomas Mathie.

waag_sng005 is dedicated to Steve Morton ... a true fan of music.

----------

I am a big fan of Sean's music. His Artificial Sun Project was a real pleasure and I was one of a small but dedicated band who mourned the project's demise.

I was understandably delighted to hear of Red Pools rising, like a phoenix, from the ashes of ASP ... and over-the-moon when I was approached by Sean to release the first single.

Sean's description of his music - swaying, claustrophobic atmospheres - is apt and I welcome it, and him, to weareallghosts.

An MP3 version of this album is available for free on Archive or a lossless version available on Bandcamp for 'pay what you want' which does include £0 (albeit paying supporters also get unlimited mobile access using the free Bandcamp listening app).

Any monies raised will go to Sean Cotterill to keep those musical gears turning.
